Helping seniors move: Part one

by Natasha on Sunday, May 31, 2009, 7:36 am · 2 comments

Technically, we spent most of yesterday helping my parents pack up some of their crap. Next Saturday is when the “big move” comes. We’ll head back down to my little home town (Wheatley) — when I moved they had to change the population sign — to help load up a truck and a small trailer. [...]

by Natasha on Saturday, May 30, 2009, 7:11 am · 1 comment

City eyes 1 minute idling limit “There’s a potential for a lot of tickets,” said Jay Stanford, the city’s director of environmental programs. You can just see him licking his lips and rubbing his hands together, can’t you? The new exception would apply when the temperature hits 36 C with humidity or 38 C without [...]

“Racists” are the new “witches”

by Natasha on Thursday, May 28, 2009, 9:47 am · 3 comments

Racism: the charge against which there is no defense. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t… In other words, if you treat people the same, you are racist; but if you treat them differently, you are racist. It is clear that we are here in the realm not of the rule of law [...]

Dear Barbara Hall, Chief Commissar of the OHRC: Piss off!

by Natasha on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, 1:36 pm · 5 comments

Actually, Barbara, let me elaborate: Please take your politically correct, do-goody-good bullshit and shove it up your big, fat, censorship-loving ass. When freedom of the press ceases to exist, then democracy is dead. Without a free press, we are no longer free. This lady — and I use the term loosely — is on a [...]

UPDATE: Michelle Malkin has more at Dealergate and the MSM Maybe it’s whose campaign you donated to: Though nearly 25% (24.8%) of all dealerships are being closed, none of the RLJ dealerships are being closed, and in the five of the six markets RLJ serves (the sixth is still being analyzed) 11 of the 13 [...]

The usual suspects feel insulted

by Natasha on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, 7:31 am

All it would take would be one President who wants to cozy up to the UN and the OIC, and who pushes legislation classifying Islamorealism as “hate speech” — and a compliant Supreme Court that would specify that such “hate speech” was not protected under the First Amendment.

Landscaping update: more trees

by Natasha on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 9:27 am · 3 comments

More trees and six yards of topsoil were delivered around 6:30 pm yesterday. We planted the trees and managed to distribute about half of the topsoil by 10 pm before we ran out of steam. We now have a sugar maple, white spruce, and ornamental pear in the backyard. Plus a mama robin has moved [...]

Obamanation: Socialism in action

by Natasha on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 9:20 am

Bigger government taking care of us seems like a warm and fuzzy idea until you find out the hard way that anything easy has its cost. From American Thinker: On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 [...]

by Natasha on Monday, May 25, 2009, 9:59 am · 2 comments

Canada minister blasts ‘dangerous’ leftist-Islamist anti-Semitism A “new anti-Semitism” that emanates from an alliance of Western leftists and Islamic extremists is more dangerous than the “old European” form of Jew-hatred, Canada’s minister of citizenship, immigration and multiculturalism said as he wound up a four-day trip to Israel Sunday. “Israel is not perfect, obviously,” Kenney said. Lavish praise for a terrorist

by Natasha on Monday, May 25, 2009, 9:16 am

From his own comments regarding Ayers: He is an award-winning educator, designated “Citizen of the Year” recently in his hometown of Chicago. Oh, and also an unrepentant terrorist who said to the NY Times: “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” Get that — he was only sorry he didn’t set [...]
