Or is it just a few, like my snob of a brother?
Got this email from him:
If you want to ever message me at home, you won’t see me on MSN anymore as I only use Google Talk anymore. I would not degrade both my Macs by loading Microsoft junk. So, if you ever want to message me you’ll need to install GTalk.
Sent from my iPhone 3G
So, this was my reply:
Well, I won’t “degrade” my PC by loading GTalk, so I guess we’ll just have to converse via email. See, I can be an elitist boob too.
Sent from my Toshiba Satellite laptop
UPDATE: Yes, I love my brother, so get off my back. We’re not feuding; he just got under my skin a bit this morning. Kinda like when we were kids.
Gee, if I ever do switch to a Mac, am I ever gonna hear him say “Hah! Told ya!”
UPDATE 2: My “baby” (44-yr-old) brother, a computer tech guy, emailed me back. He called me a Microsoft zombie. And he went on about never having to update his anti-virus/malware/firewall software — blah, blah, blah — never plugged something into his computer only to have the OS be unable to locate the driver, and so on.
Yeah, well, this is all I have to say…

My husband is a computer programmer and we only have Macs at home. He has had to work on PCs for decades and hates them with a passion. It’s not a snobbery thing for him; it’s a pain-in-the-ass thing. Macs equal fewer hassles.
My brother says much the same. But, since he is a computer technician, he should be happy for PC users — they keep him employed.
But at home, he prefers Macs. If I win a lottery, I’ll buy one.
the Mac community — many of them, any way — exhibits characteristics of cult behavior.
I’m sure they mean well.
I have many macs and an Iphone. I love my macs. I have msn messenger installed. You brother is being a bit silly. He is right that macs are better.
Dr. Roy — not you too!
Actually, I think my brother was purposely trying to get under my skin, and it worked too. He’s probably snickering to himself. He’s my younger brother, and he was always a little sh*t.
It’s just your bro but cut him some slack… Apple products do rock!
Honey Pot, prices for Mac products are in line with upper-end PC products.
I love my brother, but if he’s going to talk like a snob, I’m going to call him on it.
They just never seem to screw up. I could kick myself in the ass, I had a chance of buying a second hand mac for cheap, a few years ago. The next computer I do get will be a mac laptop.
Don’t fight with your brother, you both loose.
Yes, dad.
I would love to have a mac, but I am too cheap to purchase one. They really are the lexus of the computers. I have an ipod touch though, that little sucker comes in handy when you want to be in the know.
I have absolutely no desire for a Mac. There is no way I’m going to pay the cost of either the computer or all the software I’d have to replace — like Adobe Creative Suite (IMO, an expensive package) that I use for business.
I’ve had my laptop PC for nearly a year and I’m very happy with it. My previous laptop was a Toshiba and I was quite happy with it. The only reason I upgraded: the old computer was about 5 years old and a little slow for the newer software I’d added.
And I’ve never had a problem with the 64 bit Vista operating system. Not even interested in looking at a Mac.
