Best Climategate headline so far: ‘Dog ate homework’

by Tasha on Monday, November 30, 2009, 7:20 am · 3 comments

The editorial is by Lorrie Goldstein in the Toronto Sun: In the latest shocking development in climategate, scientists at the world’s leading research facility studying climate change have admitted they threw out much of the raw temperature data on which they built their theory of man-made global warming. And what do CRU’s “scientists” say? Essentially…Trust [...]

Sir Paul and his meat-free mania

by Tasha on Sunday, November 29, 2009, 4:24 pm · 23 comments

Former Beatle wants people to abstain from eating meat one day per week to reduce their carbon footprint. I guess he didn’t hear the news today, oh boy. A vegetarian diet didn’t do your wife a whole lot of good, did it? I mean the first one, not the one-legged gold-digger minus the pre-nup. UPDATE: [...]

Exposing the “science” behind the theory of evolution

by Tasha on Sunday, November 29, 2009, 11:26 am · 9 comments

I came across the following book while reading a favourite book publishing blog: View From the Publishing Trenches. This is not a review, but rather just a notification of a book that caught my eye. This is one I’ll have to read; it has me intrigued. In light of the ongoing scandal involving the “scientific [...]

A nanny-nation Christmas

by Tasha on Sunday, November 29, 2009, 8:11 am

O holiday cone, O holiday cone… The £14,000 structure, made of artificial turf stretched over an aluminium frame, stands 33ft high in the centre of Poole, Dorset. h/t: Ghost of a Flea I’m surprised they didn’t adopt this idea: A Festivus for the rest of us! I find tinsel distracting.

Well, so much for the accusations Canadian complicity in torture

by Tasha on Saturday, November 28, 2009, 1:09 pm · 2 comments

Liberals and their supporters never let the facts get in the way of a “good story” that maligns our Canadian soldiers. …it is Mr. Colvin who has some explaining left to do.

Q: What do you call a scientist who can’t accept criticism from “skeptics”? A: Anything you like, as long as it’s not “scientist”.

Sun media journo skews the Climategate story

by Tasha on Saturday, November 28, 2009, 9:21 am · 2 comments

In other words: Nothing to see here. Now, move along. More than one week after some conscientious person at East Anglia’s CRU leaked the Climategate emails and documents, a Sun Media journo finally awakens and deigns to report on it: Hackers skewed research e-mails But most mainstream media and serious science groups have dismissed this [...]

Supreme Court decides right: Wal-Mart wins, union loses

by Tasha on Friday, November 27, 2009, 5:28 pm · 6 comments

Lorne Gunter read my mind: No government or court can make a store or other business stay open against its wishes. By what authority? More importantly, by what mechanism could such an order be enforced?

Climategate’s roller coaster ride

by Tasha on Friday, November 27, 2009, 11:53 am · 9 comments

Yesterday… Climategate: this is our Berlin Wall moment! I’ve just had a great, very sympathetic interview about Climategate on LBC radio (London’s main commercial news and talk station) with Petrie Hosken. She told me she has been simply inundated with callers, all of them utterly unconvinced that human influence has made any significant on so-called [...]

Another Climategate letter for our government

by Tasha on Thursday, November 26, 2009, 4:10 pm · 4 comments

Read: A letter from Fred (excerpt below) Since these CRU scientists refused to allow independent scientists to review their data and computer models, they refused to actually do Science. What they did was self-serving research. Some very good points — you may want to add some of them to your own letter. Contact: Prime Minister [...]

Iggy — or @M_Ignatieff on Twitter — spoke at Laval University a little over an hour ago. This is what he said about Climate Change™: I would like to see Canada fighting for a firm international agreement to reduce carbon pollution, based on scientific facts. And the science tells us that we have to contain [...]

In the words of Kelly McParland of the National Post: Liberals clamber aboard good ship Climate Change. “Three years and three ministers later, Stephen Harper still has no plan to tackle climate change,” The Liberals say. “Rather than leading the world, Canada has been repeatedly called out for sabotaging the Copenhagen process.”

Climate science corruption appears to be contagious

by Tasha on Thursday, November 26, 2009, 10:38 am · 3 comments

Read: Uh, oh – raw data in New Zealand tells a different story than the “official” one. About half the adjustments actually created a warming trend where none existed; the other half greatly exaggerated existing warming. All the adjustments increased or even created a warming trend, with only one (Dunedin) going the other way and [...]
