Where is Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot when you need them? I suppose it would be nice to know what Liberal ridings received the loot, but does that mean any of it will be returned to its rightful owners — the taxpayers?
Well, if nothing else, it reminds people what real corruption looks like: The ethically-challenged and morally-bankrupt Liberals are experts. All their ridiculous finger-pointing over such non-scandals as the big cheques haven’t distracted anyone except their own mindless supporters.

Good luck with that motion to find the payola Tory MP Dean Del Mastro. I won’t hold my breath. Not only the liberal shave contempt for the taxpayer but bureaucracy in general.
However, ‘give us a majority and we’ll make the liberals tell us where they hid the stolen adscam money’ would make a great Tory election slogan.
That’s pretty much how I saw it — rather futile. But, good idea for an election slogan.
The funds proven to have been laundered and kicked back to the Libs,
were never revealed to Elections Canada.
By cross referencing Gomery to EC, there is proof,
not mention one of the key Adscam players wore a mic,
and is in witness protection as the RCMP still investigates….
Cote confessed to handing out cash to the ridings under his control…21 ridings, shouldn’t be hard to check out what ridings Cote was responsible for in 1997.
‘does that mean any of it will be returned to its rightful owners — the taxpayers?’
Why not?
The Paul Martin govt decided what amount of stolen money to return to Canadian taxpayers,
there never was an audit.
”Martin responded to the report by promising that the Liberal Party would reimburse $1.14 million to the federal treasury and by banning ten individuals linked to the scandal”
But the Gomery report indicated that AT LEAST $1.8 million was laundered and thru a kick back scheme, landed in Liberal hands.
We have the right to know.
And Mulcair agrees,
so on with the show.
Oh, we have the right to know, but don’t hold your breath waiting for the money to be returned. And if the Liberals somehow manage to win the next election, they’ll just jack up our taxes and get the money back.
Regrettably, I think this is a dead horse. The culprits have had four years to cover their tracks and destroy any semblance of evidence. At best we could find suspicious factors, but I doubt anything is left that could stand up in court.
About the only thing I could think of to track it would be to have Revenue Canada do a net worth audit on every player and hope an anomaly or two pops up. If any of the money went off-shore even that won’t help.
The other issue is how wide can you spread the net? Is it reasonable to look at the finances of a liberals children, siblings, in-laws, friends, etc.
