“Tell you this much: I’ve been a Liberal all my life and next time, for a whole bunch of reasons, I’m voting Harper.”

Hee, hee, hee…

As my insight on the Quebec political situation is limited, I am wondering if you or any of your readers can answer a question for me. Do you think that Denis Coderre would have been in a better position to propel the Liberals to a better showing in Quebec? Cheers.

The Quebec political situation is a mystery to me too — hopefully somebody more informed will share their opinion.

My own guess: Maybe Coderre would have helped, but I still think Canadians — including Quebecers — dislike Iggy intensely.

‘True Liberals turning Tory’

– and why not?
Harper has remade himself as a Dalton Mcguinty clone and his party is indistinguishable from the Mike Pearson welfare state champions.

As a classic liberal I felt the LPC left me in the Trudeau era when liberal values of individual liberty and social freedom (unintrusive government) were eclipsed with this statist-collectivist centralized control freak agenda of the neo-Trotskites in the Trudeaupian cult. I went to the PCs but they were as control freak as the libs and far more obtuse – the only time I was ever comfortable that the party I supported held my libertarian ideals was the Reform party – and their time has come again as we see the CPC go full circle and morph into a socialist-light clone.

With Harper pulling a welfare nanny morphing act, and liberals moving from PET-Trotski socialism to fascist statism, and the greens and dips still fossilized reminders of why communism failed, there seems nowhere to park my vote again.
