Why are we accepting immigrants from places like Somalia? Why do we keep importing jihadists to infiltrate our country? We seem hellbent on our own destruction.
From the National Post: Officials worried group in Canada went to join Islamic radicals in Somalia
Canada is home to about 150,000 ethnic Somalis, according to a report by Canada’s Integrated Threat Assessment Centre. Most are moderates but the report says that, “Some Somali-Canadians have fought as Islamist extremists in Somalia.”
Canadian investigators have been trying to determine who may have been recruiting the youths. Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan said in March that “to get involved in terrorist organizations or jihadist movements, obviously that’s inconsistent with our values and it’s something that’s alarming and that we watch.”
I love that: “most are moderates” but some are homicidal maniacs determined to kill infidels. WTF??? And Van Loan…what can I say to that lame comment. Gee, terrorism is “inconsistent with our values” — really, you think? And he proposes that it’s something to “watch.”
The group that these young jihadists went to join is known as Al-Shabab. These are their “values”:
The insurgent group, which seeks to impose a strict form of sharia Islamic law throughout Somalia, amputated a foot and a hand each from two young men accused of robbery this month. They have also banned movies, musical ringtones, dancing at wedding ceremonies and playing or watching soccer.
Residents said gunmen had rounded up any woman seen with a firm bust, and then had them publicly whipped by masked men. The women were told to remove their bras and shake their breasts. — from the National Post
Here’s my proposal, Mr. Van Loan: Stop accepting jihadists as immigrants. Is that too much to ask? And what’s the only way to be certain that you stop all jihadists from entering Canada? Put an immediate ban on all Muslim immigration.
Are there moderate Muslims? Yes, but they’re the ones living in fear of speaking up. Why? Because they’ll be labelled apostates by the jihadists amongst them. I know of only two moderate Muslims who are not afraid to speak out against the radical side of Islam: Salim Mansur and Tarek Fatah. The problem is that the radical side is stronger than the moderate side. And with the practice of taqquia — a favourite tactic of jihadists — we have no way of knowing a moderate Muslim from a jihadist who is determined to force us into their Dar al-Islam or slaughter us.
Therefore, the only logical option is to put an immediate stop to Muslims entering our country. Then closely watch for the radical elements that have already infiltrated our country and act to deport them. Stop accommodating inferior cultural/religious practices through such organizations as the misnamed “human rights” commissions and tribunals in Canada. And stop already with the hyphenated labelling of people — example: Somali-Canadian. I don’t refer to myself as a European-Canadian. If you want to be a citizen of this country, then accept that you are Canadian first.
UPDATE: Read Barbara Kay in the National Post
We may have arrived at a watershed moment in the history of multiculturalism. Indeed, this may be our official policy of multiculturalism’s “tear-down-this-wall” moment. It may even soon be possible to say that multiculturalism has failed as a national policy without being labelled a racist. — and h/t to BCF.
She is so right. The previously taboo politically-correct multicultural policy was to force Canadians to tolerate and accept all cultures as equal. That’s what multiculturalism is all about: No culture is superior; all are equal. Facts tell us that just isn’t so. Finally someone in government has the nerve to say so.

Because of world over-population and lack of resources, these people are leaving their overrun countries to breed here. Thanks to backwards practices, the Sahara desert has virtually overtaken all of North Africa. 40 million Africans have virtually drained one of the largest lakes in the world: Lake Chad. With these mentalities endangering their own survival they have turned their rapacious gaze to US. I say no immigration – close our doors – no exceptions!
I want Fox Canada as a counterpoint, with a Canadian conservative perspective.
If the feminist in Canada weren’t so useless, they would have had bill board’s out years ago with slogans ,such as, “hey Moe, no killing family females members here in Canada. It’s against the law you backward camel riding idiot.” The feminist here in Canada have helped kill countless numbers of immigrant females because of their cowardly politically correct bullshit. The feminist groups here in Canada need restructuring, they just can’t seem to grasp the reality of what is going on.
Our Immigration policy has been a dormant scandal for decades. With a work force that generally runs between 7%-9% unemployed why are we importing labor? The answer is, of course, we import very little labor. The largest portion of immigration is either refugee or sponsored by relatives – and recently a growing percentage of expired visa squatters.
With this type of lax security and enforcement I’m not surprised at the weekly horror stories about the criminal scum who have gotten in here so easily.
Of course it goes without saying you cannot address the failings of immigration policy without being slandered as a bigot-racist by the cynical political partisans who view the immigrant community as their personal plantation to exploit for labor, votes and revenues.
I fully expect to be labelled racist, and guess what? I don’t care.
I watched an episode of W5 recently titled: Broken Vows: Marrying for immigration, not love. Talk about love being blind…
I was disappointed in Jason Kenney (they interviewed him). He basically took a “buyer beware” type view. I agree with him that people have to accept personal responsibility for their decisions, but I still feel our government could be a tougher on these cases. Emotional people aren’t always thinking clearly, and people in love are very emotional. Love can cause people to do make some really dumb-ass decisions.
What really chaps my little Canadian-born buns is the fact that immigration seems to let all sorts of immigrants come in, but do you think they would grant permanent residence to my immigrant husband?
Not easily anyways.
It’s driving me crazy because the system appears to be one made by liars, for liars (reminds me of the insurance company when you need to make a claim)
We are an honest to goodness family with 2 kids, married for over 4 years, we pay our taxes, we are your average Canadian family – except for the fact that my husband has no status here, so we can’t buy our own home, he can’t travel with me and the kids and we constantly live with the threat of our provider being deported.
My husband came here on a student visa to go to university, we met, fell in love yadda yadda yadda, I applied to sponsor him back in 2005 when we married. The years are passing and each year all we hear from immigration is that they *might* get to our file in a “few months to a year”. Year after year.
MooseandSquirrel – they are EXTREMELY tough on our case. They haven’t even approved me to be his sponsor yet, let alone process his application for permanent residence.
Yes, we did marry so he could stay in Canada, if immigration didn’t force legal marriage on us by threatening deporting him we would have been happy to live in the same manner we do now with the 9 to 5′s and the kids etc. but that’s not the way it goes…
My problem is, we are the honest family and we get shat on. I personally know people who did abuse the system by lying and having a false marriage to gain status (I did NOT approve, but my approval or yours isn’t the point here) The point is, liars are let through the system in record time, while the honest people suffer. And wait, and wait, and wait.
I wish immigration WAS this hard on EVERYONE who wanted to live here. Their methods of selective screening are working very well. I don’t think people in a fake marriage go to all the trouble of having children together or buying a dental care plan together….
Get it together Immigration Canada.
As far as buying a home, you could have the home in your name alone. Although you might not want to take on the expense of a home if your husband’s status is still up in the air.
But to get to your main point — your case is dragging on too long. It’s very unfair to your family, especially your children. And you’re right, people in a fake marriage don’t usually have children and all that…
One suggestion: Have you tried to enlist the help of your Member of Parliament (federal)? I would contact your MP by email and phone. You can get their contact info here: Find your MP by postal code OR Find your MP by name.
And when you contact your MP by email, CC your letter to the opposition (Liberals – Ignatieff) as well. (Sometimes I like to play them against each other). You can try and contact Jason Kenney, though it’s probably better to try to get your MP on your side to advocate on your behalf.
At the same time, are there any others here — like clergy, professional people (doctor, etc.) that would be willing to advocate on your behalf? Perhaps give character references to your MP?
These are just some thoughts — perhaps these are things you’ve tried. If you have already tried contacting your MP, try again. And don’t give up if you get no reply right away. For example: When I have an issue, I’ll send an email, then give it a week and if I’ve had no response, I send another email with “2ND REQUEST” in the subject line. Then follow up with a phone call.
Anyway, I hope it won’t be too much longer before your husband’s status is resolved. I’m sure it feels like your life is in limbo right now. Stay positive and good luck!
Burman, head of the English network for 18 months, told about 500 listeners at the University of Western Ontario he expects Al Jazeera English will be available in Canadian homes as soon as January.
“Windows need to be blown open, not shut closed,” he said.-Buman, head of the English network of Al Jazeera
Being a terrorist supporter, he means that literally.
Personally, I am all for Al Jazeera coming to Canada. The ignorance and danger of islam coming from the horses mouth, so to speak, will ensure it will be met with the disdain it truly deserves.

Sounds fine to me too. Good to know what the jihadists have to say.
It just makes you shake your head in disbelief.
It’s the definition of insanity: keep doing the same things and expecting different results.
