Read George Jonas: The bomb is just the beginning
First Jonas relates poet George Faludy’s anecdote of totalitarian terror. Then Jonas explains how the “asymmetrical” terrorism of Al-Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. differs from that; yet, it is just as powerful when successful. Scaring people is not enough; you have to appeal to their “desire for equity.”
Terrorism’s great achievement isn’t hijacking jetliners, but hijacking the debate. Occupying office buildings is but a step towards occupying the moral high ground. Successful terrorism persuades the terrorized that if they do terror’s bidding, it’s not because they’re terrified but because they’re socially concerned. Once adapted and internalized by its targets, asymmetric terror can be as powerful as totalitarian terror.
So far, it’s been very successful. Not with me, mind you, but it’s certainly worked on the far left in this country — and I include most of the journos in the MSM in that.
Me — well, I’m a middle-aged ol’ bitch, who refuses to “submit.” It’s not that I’m very brave at all; I’m just not one who’s easily pushed around. I fit Jonas’ description here: “Simply scaring them might even get their backs up.”
Yes, the jihadists scare me. But like a scared animal when it feels cornered, I react to that fear with anger and lash out. I’m not going to submit now or ever. You’ll never see one of those “filthy rags” (as Fallaci called the chador) on me — unless it’s in my casket. And that’s not bravery — it’s probably closer to stupidity, but I’m nothing if not intensely stubborn.
UPDATE: Dhimmi “desire for equity” reduces an icon of free, modern women to subjugated chattel. More at: Burka Barbie. Next for girls who want a “Barbie that they feel represents them” — Female Genital Mutilation Barbie.

*Sigh* I’m off to go bang my head on a wall now.

Accessories with burka Barbie include a pile a stones, a whip and her head easily pops off on allah’s whim. I do hope the next generation of female muslims aren’t as stupid as this generation. You would think out of that whole islamic culture, they could find a handful of females with a brain trying to teach the majority of dumb female muslims to at least consider themselves a person. Sure it would end the death cult of islam that is based on the foundation of oppression and barbarism, but would the world miss it? I think not.
I don’t have a lot of hope for them or us — they’re so brainwashed from the time they’re little girls…
Hey, we’ve already got “Bound Feet Barbie”.
(That’s what I always think when I see her feet, anyway. I much prefer flat-footed Barbies.)
I’ve always found Barbie’s proportions a little disturbing — I never really thought she represented any women I was familiar with.
Someone’s post somewhere (can’t remember) said “What’s next, Jihadi Ken?”
It wouldn’t surprise me: ‘Get your new Jihadi Ken. Comes with a selection of keffiyehs in all the latest stylish colours. Act now and receive the optional suicide vest!’
