A day in the life of a black squirrel in London, Ontario

black_sqThese guys seem to be fair weather creatures…

We usually see our furry friends arrive bright and early, but with the light dusting of snow on the ground, this little beggar couldn’t trouble himself to come out until about 9:40 a.m.

These little black mooches often press their faces up against the glass of our patio door, trying to peer inside where they know the stash of peanuts is located.

You got snow? Forgot London is in a snow-belt, while we in sunny Windsor are in the banana belt. Rather apropos if you know Windsor’s politics.

Yeah, we just got a light dusting. With the sun out, the snow’s almost gone now. Actually, London is just at the edge of the snow-belt — we often miss the very worst in bad storms (not always, but if we’re lucky).

And I’d say London’s politics isn’t much better than Windsor’s, although you guys did beat us for the city with the highest unemployment — we came in second.
