Determined to ‘stop climate change’

That was a phrase I caught last night as I half listened to the news. Don’t ask me what channel; it doesn’t matter, since the lamestream media all sound the same as they parrot each other.

Seriously, though, this news report was all about the Copenhagen protests to bring attention to the efforts to “stop climate change.” Wow — stop climate change.

While we’re at it, why don’t we also put an end to hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, and blizzards. Plus, eradicate cancer, AIDS, and any number of diseases, conditions, and addictions that currently afflict humanity. Then, of course, it’s on to world peace, which should be pretty easy to achieve. I mean, after stamping out all that other stuff, ending all wars for all time should be a breeze.

Let’s see: What other forces of nature can we impose our great will upon? The sun? Maybe we could manipulate its output, regulating the number of days and even hours that it shines. I think that’s the only sort of thing that would pacify the control freaks who are bent on “stopping climate change.”

Here’s a thought for all you nutbars out there who are determined to tame natural forces. Try your hand first at training a willful puppy. See how that goes, and then get back to us. And maybe in between sessions of “Sit” and “Stay,” you could take a little time to educate and enlighten yourself with some factual information about the complex issue of climate. It’s time to grow up and realize you’ve allowed yourself to be duped and used by agenda-driven alarmists.

And it’s time to realize that you don’t really want to “stop climate change.” Our climate changes naturally: It always has and it always will.

How arrogant and presumptuous to assume a force of nature can be legislated, regulated and taxed into stability. We live in an era where our bureaucratic class presume the powers of God over nature and humanity – hang ‘em all !

I swear I keep hearing them (the media) repeat that same phrase, about stopping climate change. They are absolutely clueless how stupid they sound.
