The warm-mongers in the media are still flogging the global warming fairy tale in spite of the corruption of evidence exposed by the Climategate scandal. Luckily intelligent people know the difference between science fiction and reality, as is demonstrated by this letter to the editor by Mack Thrasher in The Daily Observer:
The world is saved, our leaders have declared that they are going to set the world’s thermostat to no more than an increase of two degrees. I am amazed that they believe the sun has a thermostat that you can set just like your furnace, or is it just a little icing on the cake to appease the GREENIES?
Michael Den Tandt’s column of Saturday, Dec. 27 criticizing the prime minister, and stating Canada has been humiliated because we are so far behind in the fight against global warming indicates how naive and uninformed some of these columnists are. He is still using the term global warming and suggests that humans are responsible, when the science does not support it.
Copenhagen was a failure as it should have been, because the world leaders are beginning to listen to the real science and not to the frauds and crooks in the UN’S IPCC. They are forced to face the reality that human activities are not responsible for climate change, and trillions of our tax dollars are being wasted on this nonsense, money that could have gone to help poor nations with electricity, fresh water, food, agriculture and infrastructure, so they could help feed themselves. I believe Mr. Thrasher’s letter was in response to this laughable opinion piece by columnist Michael Den Tandt:
Worse yet, Canada has been humiliated internationally by the merry pranksters known as the Yes Men. Their intricately executed press stunt this week neatly highlighted how far behind we’ve fallen in the fight against global warming. That’s what Canadians will remember about Copenhagen.
Now, what’s interesting about this particular journo is that he used to support the dissenting scientists who rightly questioned what we now know as the junk science behind the global warming/climate change industry. Here is what Mr. Den Tandt had to say in 2002:
For despite the widely held assumption that the science of human-induced global warming is incontrovertible, it is not. And despite the equally common view that any scientists who oppose the Kyoto Protocol are either quacks, pawns of Big Oil, or figments of Ralph Klein’s fevered imagination, they are not.
I guess Den Tandt watched the Goracle’s very flawed propaganda film An Inconvenient Truth one too many times, until the brainwashing was complete and he succumbed to the hyped-up hypnotic effects of absolute lies.

In the past I have referred to extreme environmental groups as socialist environmentalists, well I thought, how many groups are there? I asked the computer, and it came up with 1-10 of about 46,000,000. I wonder where they get their funding?
The Suzuki Foundation is one of them, and speaking of socialism, his CBC commercials on energy saving, with the children in the tree house reminds me of Hitler’s youth movement, turning children into Orwellian eco spies.
I’ve said it before: Follow. The. Money. With so many billions of dollars at stake, the Greenies will not let it rest. Naturally, the tree huggers are just the useful idiots of the multi-billion dollar carbon trading industry. The real culprits are the corporations (many Big Oil companies) and the individuals like Gore and Pachauri, who won’t sit back and watch their fortunes go down the drain. They will not rest and have already found a way to make CO2 the culprit: Ocean Acidification.
All I can say is Keep writing your letters, Mack. More people need to speak out against the propagandists using junk science simply to pad their already bulging bank accounts.

The comment about snow in Mexico is a good example of how we, in the deniers camp, are muddling our message. Mexico City is located at an elevation of 7,300 feet. It is not uncommon for this city to experience snowfalls. It is unusual when Mexico City receives heavy dumps of snow that lingers, or when snow falls in the lowland deserts.
We have to be wary of falling into the trap of the warmists which is to claim that every climate event is an indicator that massive changes are underway. Climate is constantly changing; some is fairly localized and some is broader in scale, but it always changes. The warmists have used this as propaganda to convince people that this is abnormal and is caused by human activities. To deny that climate changes is as ridiculous as the panic-monger’s claim that it is man made. The message we have to get out is that, yes, there are shifts in weather patterns, and yes it will cause some inconveniences, but it is not necessarily because the planet is undergoing severe warming (it isn’t) or that it is undergoing severe cooling (it is cooling, but it has done so in the past and it will warm again in the future.) The message is that we will have to adapt to any long term changes. Humans can’t control the weather or the overall climate, but we have allowed the warmists to equate any change, hot or cold, to human intervention. This is the arena in which we must fight the AGW idiots and show that Earth is not warming and that climate change is beyond our control.

I’ve used this point with several of the AGW crowd,and they’re quite astonished that their morally pure cause has been co-opted by Big Oil, etc. They HAVE NO IDEA. Most of the AGW bunch believe exactly what they are told by Al Gore, Suzuki,and the pro crowd in the MSM.
They have been taught from childhood to believe their Leaders line and they do so without question or query. Any doubts they might have are quashed as “negativism” by their peers.
Many have an overdeveloped herd instinct and are horrified by being “outside” the popular trend. It’s easy giving your mind over to someone else, you don’t have to THINK , or DOUBT anymore. It’s all done for you by the Big Sheep,who blindly follow the direction of the shepherd, Al Gore and company. Baa-aa.
This whole AGW thing reminds me of the glorious Soviet Union,where the Communist Party Bigwigs lived in modest apartments in the big cities,but weekended in luxurious dachas outside the cities, that the ordinary citizen had NO idea existed. But at least the Soviet citizens had the excuse that the real situation was kept secret by a State controlled media.
