From the UK: Intelligence on Muslim radicals cannot be passed to the US because of privacy fears.
MI5 failed to alert America to intelligence highlighting the extremist links of the Detroit plane bomber because of concerns about breaching his human rights and privacy.
The spy agency withheld its files on Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab from Washington until after the near-catastrophic Christmas Day attack because of guidance from its legal department.
As if that’s not bad enough, you-know-who’s counter-terrorism adviser plans to offer this terrorist a plea bargain in exchange for information.
Abdulmutallab committed an act of war. He may have been Made in England, but he’s being accorded all the rights of citizenship by the United States, complete with a civilian trial and defended by a court-appointed lawyer paid for by American taxpayers.
As for the UK, well, they’ve been growing ever more hopeless for years. Apparently misery loves company, because they’ve decided to keep mum about terrorist threats against the rest of us. And Obama’s “Try a little tenderness with terrorists” policy is putting everyone — including Canadians — under direct threat. He’s made it quite clear to the terrorists who the “weak horse” is in this war.
The new tightened security that treats everyone equally — like potential terrorists — are plain (or plane) stupid. Stricter immigration laws, probability profiling, and sharing information are what will work — human rights politically-correct bullshit be damned. It doesn’t seem any Western leader is willing to do what’s necessary, though.
Just what will it take to light a fire under our leaders? Nukes? Bio/chemical weapons? Or maybe just several more Yemeni-trained terrorists with dickie-detonators. With the new rules forcing everyone to remain seated for the last hour of flight, don’t go expecting another Jasper Schuringa to save your asses. Everyone will be pissing themselves waiting for their plane to blow up right in front of their helpless eyes.

… and Canada is in the same situation thanks to caving in to Arar , and now no doubt no one in CSIS or the RCMP will be in a hurry to send info to the US.
Yes, we have more than our fair share of Dhimmi-dummies, don’t we?
“dickie-detonators” hahahahahhaah
I hope that phrase of yours catches on. It is fuuuunnnnnnnnny.
We have to make fun of these nuts at every opportunity, because that makes them sound nuttier and maybe … maybe one day soon more people will wake up to the madness that we are dealing in, when dealing with a Koran-twisted mind.
Thanks Maria! You’re right — until they wake up and take notice, we’ll ridicule them to death.
Thanks much for the nice link. Last week the Brits were saying they notified intelligence, specifically John Brennan, in October ’08 about Abdulmutallab. Now they say they didn’t do any such thing! sigh. I ripped Brennan on that one, but I’m not thinking of an apology:-)
You are exactly right that tougher immigration laws are needed rather than longer lines at the airport. Profile those needing profiling and keep people out of our countries that are the slightest suspicious. A little common sense will take a long way in the fight against jihadists.
Any time Maggie — good work! And note I said probability profiling — it’s not a race thing. Just look at the number of idiot feminists (more useful idiots) who are converting to Islam.
Until the common sense kicks in with some of the moonbats in management, I think we’ll have to ridicule the crap out of them.
What other islamist intel has the international spook community withheld from us prior to other Terrrorist attacks. If you think this is a first time, think again.
And I think its less a matter of PC than it is establishing plausible deniability before the fact.
What really pisses me off is what country, other than the U.S., should be very alert to the terrorists’ potential? I mean, after the 2005 London tube bombings I figured they’d start to wake up. Apparently not enough people were killed, or maybe they just don’t care.
I hope nobody gets hurt in the stampede to get away from the earth quake area when Churchhill starts bouncing off all 4 sides of his coffin as he turns over and over in it.
Briton used to be such a strong and just country. Now they are just a country and not much of one at that.
No kidding! Can you imagine if Churchill was alive today? England needs some people with his backbone, but it’s probably already too late.
