‘What Have We Learned In 2,065 Years?’

Something like that was heard I believe when the Reform became the official opposition. The Reform got the Liberals to move noticeably to the right when Preston Manning was giving them lessons in economics. At the time if the Libs had not moved right we could very easily have had a Reform led government right now instead of the semi-liberal amalgamation of unconservative wannabes we have now.

That question begs a response from someone acquainted with esoteric historical perspective.

If I had one thing to select as something we never seem to learn, throughout the entire human development epoch, it is that there is in every generation a person or group of persons who are genetically predisposed to megalomaniac misanthropy (M&Ms) . People who believe that others were put on this planet for them to exploit as a personal work force and wealth engine. They assumed various rolls and titles at various times (war lords, tyrants, Pharohs, kings, aristocrats, dictators, oligarchic elite, etc.) but the common thread between them is they see the human race as nothing but a resource of dumb livestock to be domesticated culled, milked, worked and fleeced as they see fit for their benefit. By today’s post Freudian standards most of these people (historic leader/rulers) from what we collectively call ‘the age of kings’ would be diagnosed with severe sociopathic disorder, megalomanic and delusional – to be socially marginalized, put on meds or locked up if they acted on their fantasies.

I think humanity’s tolerance of these psycho ‘Kings” peaked in the 16th-18th centuries with the rise of republicanism and liberal democracy, and the revolutions these produced – the greatest revolutionary social construct being that a person exists for his own benefit first (not the state’s or King’s)and can voluntarily join with his peers to govern for the common good. Where modern people “have not learned that lesson” is they assume these populist revolts rid us of this aristocratic parasitic sociopathic class of megalomaniacs that were once the leadership and established oligarchy in the age of kings.

But if the thing that created the despotic oligarchs of the age of kings was mental illness has this psycho aristocracy ever gone away?

As I say the pattern is EVERY generation produces this type. We saw this truth play out in the post-republican democratic era with Hitler, Lennin-Stalin-Mao – all M&Ms who fancied themselves kings with all the unbridled power of kings who murdered or worked people as they saw fit. We somehow have a false belief that our little corner of the globe was immune to this retro age of kings megalomanic despotism.

If you look for it it’s everywhere in post modern democracies – somewhat benign but still despotic, megalomanic and self serving. And the M7M oligarchy is still around but work behind the scenes in a democracy content (for now) to pull the strings of the politicians and bureaucrats who they own. Left unchecked by those democratic patriots who recognize tyranny when they see it, this semi-benign despotism will blossom into a modern version of the ages old rule by psycho-crats.

Never forget there are Attilla the Huns, Calligulas, Napoleons, Stalins, Idi Amins born every generation.
