Illogic from the looney left: Conservatives are inciting anti-Semitism by supporting Israel

by Natasha on Monday, February 22, 2010, 10:56 am · 15 comments

Anita Neville, Liberal MP for Winnipeg South Centre, says that Harper’s Conservatives’ support of Israel equals inciting anti-Semitism. Well, by that logic, perhaps the government should start supporting terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, in order to finally encourage a little anti-terrorist sentiment among the opposition.

Read: Support for Israel may spark antisemitism, MP Neville says

Canadian opposition members are claiming that the country’s conservative government may be sparking a rise in antisemitism with its pro-Israel policies, the Globe and Mail reported last Wednesday.
[...]
Harper is well-known for his strong support for Israel. During the Second Lebanon War he backed the IDF’s efforts against Hezbollah, thereby drawing criticism from many Liberal politicians in Canada.

If only Harper had known…All he had to do to get the Liberals on his side was to support Hezbollah terrorists.

UPDATE: Should have known this post would attract a real Jew hater. Too bad he limits himself to only anti-Semitic websites full of crap.

I recommend trying the following sites for a change:

Internet Sacred Text Archive: A search for Talmud at Google will turn up hundreds of thousands of hits, a depressing number of which are to anti-Semitic sites. However, to our knowledge this is the first extensive English translation of the Talmud to be posted on the Internet.

Talmud: The Real Truth About The Talmud:
From the introAnti-Talmud accusations have a long history dating back to the 13th century when the associates of the Inquisition attempted to defame Jews and their religion [see Yitzchak Baer, A History of Jews in Christian Spain, vol. I pp. 150-185].

If this is an example of the “important issues” the opposition whined about proroguing parliament for, and if this is a prime example of the disingenuous logic prevalent in the Opposition ranks – stick a fork in ‘em, they’re done.

The mind bogles at what devolved sense of purpose Opposition left have to believe that this vicious and culturally divisive partisanism does to serve populist democracy.

Hi Natasha,

I knew I could count on you to post something to get my cerebral goo unglued. Here goes…

Jewish MP Anita Neville displays an amazing amount of ignorance, but then again, what do you expect from a Liberal who, by being critical of KAIROS funding cut by the Conservatives, must probably agree with the KAIROS line that Israel is guilty of Apartheid, oppression of peace loving Palestinians, and doesn’t want peace, but only more land to steal on which to build an empire for colonization.

Or is it something more partisan than that? She’s also accused the Conservatives of making her afraid to speak openly about the issue of Anti-Semitism.

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/tories-accused-of-using-anti-semitism–for-political-gain-83868877.html

Uh, Anita darling, you’re on a Canadian Parliamentary Coalition to Combat Anti-Semitism AND you’re a Jew. What’s not to say? Who’s intimidating you, the Conservatives for supporting Israel? Just how do you reconcile that kind of thinking? Things must be double-plus good in your toys-in-the-attic Liberal world.

Revisionist history and manipulation of the facts with an anti-Israeli propagandist twist is just what a Liberal like Neville seems to agree with through her illogical statement. She believes defunding KAIROS of my tax dollars will somehow increase anti-Semitic feelings by Canadians? More likely, mostly by those who either believe the tripe KAIROS has been spreading (see Libs, Socialists and Communists) or those who have something to benefit from it (Pick your Islamic Organization, or friends thereof).

Let’s look at a few facts from their website before it gets scrubbed:

http://www.kairoscanada.org/en/media-room/letter/archive/2008/01/article/kairos-calls-for-canada-to-act-regarding-the-siege-of-gaza/?tx_ttnewsbackPid=575&cHash=cf0907f052

>From a letter to the PM dated 29 Jan 2008

“KAIROS is further disturbed that Canada voted against a United Nations resolution at the Special Sixth Session of the U. N. Human Rights Council, which condemned the Israeli human rights violations in Gaza.”

(And where was the condemnation from this august body when Hamas was raining rockets on Israel?)

4 Natasha February 22, 2010 at 1:56 pm

I’m on Jason Kenney’s email list, so that’s actually the reason I heard about this (I need to scan the papers online a little better).

Actually, in the email, Kenney said “Please don’t ask me to explain her logic. I can’t.” Neville’s lunacy made me chuckle, which is why I suggested using a little reverse moonbat psychology.

As for KAIROS being upset about Canada not signing on to the Israel hate-fest at the UNHRC session — too bad for those terrorist supporters. I’m proud of Canada for being in the company of men like Colonel Richard Kemp and standing up to the lynch mob at the biased and misnamed UN Human Rights Council.

5 Kaffir_Kanuck February 22, 2010 at 1:57 pm

Oops. The last part got chopped off:

From a statement issued 20 Nov 2006

“The launching of these rockets is a violation international human rights standards and should be stopped. However, the Israeli response is totally disproportionate to the Palestinian rocket attacks.”

(Perhaps Israel should have also rained its ordinance indiscriminately into Gaza?)

From the 5th International Sabeel Conference Statement, “Challenging Christian Zionism” released 18 Apr 2004:

“With renewed urgency we warn that the theology of Christian Zionism is leading to the moral justification of empire, colonization, apartheid and oppression”

(Remember, this is a Christian Organization upset over loosing taxpayer money after calling Israel a Zionist empire bent on colonization, inflicting apartheid when they have Arab members in their Democratic Parliament, which the same cannot be said of Jewish reps anywhere in the surrounding Arab governments – let alone Christian representatives, and accusing it of oppression when Hamas and Fatah practice their politics through assassination and the barrel of a gun.)

From a call for “Church Action For Peace in Palestine and Israel – End 40 Years of Illegal Occupation Negotiate a Just Peace Now! Dated 3 Jun 2007:

“Forty years ago, the Six-Day War began a course of history that has been disastrous for Israelis and Palestinians.”

(The only resulting disaster was that the land Israel won in this pre-emptive war of self defence on the massing Arab Armies of Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Morocco, all led by Nasser and his Egyptian Army camped out in the Sinai and armed by the Soviets was the Arabs got their asses handed to them, and that the subsequent land Israel traded for peace has yet to show any real dividends.

Oh, and up until that point, Gaza belonged to Egypt, so maybe the Palestinians should give it back since they’re occupying Egyptian land.

And don’t get me started on all the Palestinians who weren’t even born in the land-formally-known-as-Palestine-now-called-Israel-and-the-occupied-territories who’s decedents were not allowed to return to their countries of origin: Syria, Jordan, Egypt)

Given the ample opportunity to practice peace rather than terror, the Arab gangs who control Gaza and the West bank, who spend all the Zakat they receive on weapons and anti-Semitic propaganda, who only have hospitals and schools funded by outside agencies, of which at least one has a charter dedicated to the eradication of Israel, and the list goes on…

I wonder how the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg will respond to MP Neville of Winnipeg South Centre’s attempt to create anti-Semitism through a strawman argument?

http://www.jewishwinnipeg.org/index.aspx?page=1

And some groovy facts about the Jews in Winnipeg:

- Comprise 2.2% of the population
- 4th largest religious group in Winnipeg

I see you’ve tagged Ms Neville as a Liberal terrorist hugger, an anti-Semitic leftist, an illogical leftist and a member of “the looney left”. I agree that her comments are illogical and have no quarrel with you calling her a looney – a state the above appears to reflect. I might even be able to agree that she is on the left. That said, I wonder what evidence you might be able to provide that she is an anti-Semite and a terrorist hugger.

7 Natasha February 22, 2010 at 4:09 pm

*Sigh* — First of all, the “tags” that I choose for my posts are simply my arbitrary choice. It helps to locate related material. Nowhere in my post did I call her a “Liberal terrorist supporter” — however, now that you bring it up, I’d say birds of a feather and all that. You “might even be able to agree that she is on the left” — what?? If it walks like a duck…

From the article’s link: “Neville says the defunding of Kairos could cause those in favour of the organization’s work to accuse the Jews of conspiring to bankrupt it.”

In other words, she thinks taxpayers should go on funding a disgusting group like Kairos who wanted Canada to sign on in agreement to the “Israelis are war criminals” lynch mob report at the biased and anti-Semitic UNHRC.

You can also look to her own website, where she parrots her leader and some her fellow Taliban-loving Liberals, which I wrote about here and here. Plus more from Ezra Levant here.

The Liberal Party of Canada officially supports investigating our soldiers, according to their leader Ignatieff. If I was a politician in such a party, I would immediately quit or switch sides. Neville remains an active MP who supports her leader; therefore, she is complicit in the entire left-Liberal ideology that favors Taliban terrorists over Canada’s own soldiers.

8 Natasha February 22, 2010 at 4:56 pm

Brian, I forgot to reply to your other request for evidence of Neville as an anti-Semite as well as a terrorist hugger. Actually I have none, and I have to say that’s not an accurate label for Neville (as far as I know). But Neville’s illogical and stupid comments play into the hands of anti-Semites, who would love to see our government stop supporting Israel. Therefore, I’ll remove the anti-Semite tags and replace them with my “useful idiots” tag, which seems more appropriate here.

9 Kaffir_Kanuck February 22, 2010 at 4:29 pm

(in my opinion) It would be incorrect and ridiculous to call MP Neville, a Jew, anti-Semitic. There are high profile Jews who support the Palestinian cause and are anti-Israel, but I don’t know of any that are so ideologically and culturally self flagellating that they also hate themselves while still remaining Jewish.

10 MooseandSquirrel February 22, 2010 at 4:34 pm

Naomi Klein comes to mind. In Neville’s case, anti-Semitic is less than accurate. Terrorist hugger, though, seems reasonable to me — she supports her fellow terrorist huggers.

11 Kaffir_Kanuck February 22, 2010 at 4:47 pm

Alright. Like I said, “that I know of.” Now I know of one. Just for her “’Holocaust pornography” comment, she gets bumped to the top of this week’s Fatwa list. I was saving it for the CIC’s Friday Magazine contributor, Imam Dr. Zijad Delic, but there’s always next week.

Natasha, I’m of Jason Kenny’s list as well, and wrote back to him and my MP Lee Richardson with the following: Thanks for posting the story!
——————-
Dear Jason,

I don’t understand the liberals.
It’s all fear mongering and cries of ‘Retreat from the brink!’

Kairos’ policies are clearly anti-Israel, and include support for Hamas and Hezbollah, organizations for which there is overwhelming evidence of not just corruption but also terrorism and murder. Calls for appeasement using thinly veiled threats are the liberal way, it seems.

As I understand it, Kairos officials tried to disguise their anti-semetic leanings, but the Canadian government performed some basic due diligence in processing Kairos grant application, and then denied them $7 million in public funding. Seems like a pretty open & shut case, regardless of Bev Oda’s initial remarks about federal funding priorities.

Jason, I like your zero tolerance policy towards anti-semetism, which includes cancelling funding for the Canadian Arab Federation and ending contact with the Canadian Islamic Congress.

There is a concerted effort in the Feb 9 Globe and Mail story comments section to spin support for the Liberals. The origin of the outrageously high approval ratings for comments that are anti Israel would be worth a forensic investigation. Spelling, syntax and grammar in the comments by multiple psuedonymed writers are all suspiciously similar……

You and your Conservative Government Team are doing a terrific job, and in very difficult circumstances. Thank you for communicating your thoughts with me.

Keep up the good work!
Don Sharpe
