Despite the threat from Princess Fairy Pants and the censoring-crazed suckies who question why UWO was allowing her to speak, Ann Coulter entertained a packed house tonight in London, Ontario. And guess what? The world didn’t come to an end, and tomorrow UWO students will return to classes to continue their indoctrination education.
Hubby and I arrived about 7 pm when the doors were supposed to open, only to find a very long line that stretched down the street. We took our place at the end, and after about a half hour shuffling along in the cold, we finally got inside the building. Apparently, the bomb-sniffing dogs had to go over the place thoroughly first. Okay, I jest about bomb-sniffing dogs, but we did overhear one of the volunteers telling someone the room was closed for over half an hour so they could check every seat, nook and cranny. Hubby leaned over and whispered, “What did you get us into?”
It just took a minute to confirm our registration and pay the admission fee, then security stopped me to look through my purse. I don’t have a very large purse, but I was wishing I’d cleaned it out before we went — it was full of all kinds of crap. Anyway, the room was pretty full, so we sat in the cheap seats in what turned out to be the anti-Coulter section (oh well). My only complaint is that the event started very late: It was scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm with Ezra Levant, then followed by Ann Coulter at 7:45 pm. Now, a five or ten minute delay would have been fine, but Ezra didn’t start his spiel until well after 8 pm. When Coulter finally appeared it was nearly 8:30 pm; unfortunately hubby and I had to leave shortly before 9 pm. If they’d run a little closer to their schedule, I would have only had to miss a bit of the Q&A afterward.
From the 11 pm TV news broadcast tonight, apparently that’s when a young Muslim woman stood up and read off a bunch of Coulter’s anti-Muslim quotes. Unfortunately my TV’s reception was wonky during this report, so I couldn’t hear the woman’s question to Coulter, nor Coulter’s response. But I did recognize the young Muslim woman; I sat right next to her while she alternately texted fellow Muslims and scribbled furiously in Arabic using the pen she borrowed from me. I forgot to ask for it back before I left — damn.
I’ll update tomorrow with what I got from Coulter’s talk on political correctness. And I’m sure others will fill us in on what I missed.
Part 2 here.
UPDATE: Welcome BCF readers!

Here’s a link, Moose ‘n Squirrel, to the Muslim woman’s question and Coulter’s answer:

Thanks for the link. What I heard on the news was little Fatima saying something about being “stabbed in the heart.” Okey-dokey…nothing like a little melodrama to complete the circus sideshow the media and the liberal wankers created in advance.
And hey, Fatima — I want my pen back!
I was following the tweets on the lfp, and others. This from the leftard male crowd who are so into women’ right.
Coulter: took off a pair of black panties, tossed them into the crowd and said “Sniff these and lemme know what you think!” #coulterincanada

Coulter: says she’s looking for a “little rough trade” while she’s in Canuckistan and welcomes suggestions where to get it. #coulterincanada
He’s taken that muslim idealogy to heart, suggesting if you want to shut a female up, you should just rape her.
You saw who those tweets came from, didn’t you? It was @ButchMcLarty.
Barry has the right to be a disgusting pig, you know, because he is one. The fact that he is sooooo piggish you would think the head honcho of the she wimmin’s man hating club would speak out against his misogynist remarks from time to time. That ain’t going to happen because he is the only fan she has.
I’ve been chaffing at the bit to find out how it went last night and you were first off the line with info Natasha – good blogging. Sounds like a good time was had by all; the right got to see their favorite stand up act and the left got to work-out their phony moral outrage.
Tell you one thing though, I would never have stood for some rent a cop pawing through my personal items in some security pat down. This paranoia has gone far enough. It’s a statement by the authorities that they deem the threat of criminal violence by the left and leftist special interests to be high. So next can we expect these rights violating pat downs at every theater that shows a film the left deems controversial? It’s crap like this that is turning our society into a communal gulag. Thank the left and their violence-prone friends for the constant state of domestic terror the authorities over react to.
Actually it wasn’t exactly a pat down. I was rather amused by it; all he did was ask me to open my purse, he looked inside for a couple secs, and said “that’s fine.” All I could think was “Oh God, it’s crammed full of crap.”
Watching Coren tonight, I found it interesting that Ann Coulter has to travel with a bodyguard on her tour of university campuses.
You’re correct about both the right and left having a good time!
What would Me*Again* say about those tweets? After all, she knows the tweeter, he was involved in her campaign stint for the ndp. Would she consider those tweets abusive towards Ann, an opinionated female, or is she like all other leftie women’s group executive directors, and consider it appropriate because it is a conservative female that is being degraded.
Speak out Me*Again*, you have been an over paid welfare recipient for years. Earn your keep.Your job is to speak out when females are being degraded, all females.
Here’s the video of the Q/A from the muslim girl.
