Imagine life under a Liberal government

Canada’s Liberals under Ignatieff will:

  • Create a national food program to support existing programs
    - Ignatieff wants another taxpayer-funded program to prop up other taxpayer-funded programs; because when a program isn’t satisfactory, you should just throw more tax dollars at it
  • Introduce Cap and Trade legislation
    - Iggy is another “Put a price on carbon” type of guy, completely ignoring Climategate and the non-peer reviewed junk science in the IPCC report
  • Create a national daycare program
    - Liberals believe taxpayers should be paying to raise other people’s kids: aka “social justice”
  • Improve the gun registry
    - Again, when a program that was supposed to cost less than $2 million ends up costing $2 billion, the smart thing to do is keep throwing more tax dollars at it
  • Support the illiberal “Human Rights” regime in Canada, especially the anti-free speech thought crimes of Section 13
    - Ignatieff flip-flops on free speech and spits on Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms
  • Make culture wars a priority
    - Iggy’s “culture” funding includes a guarantee of continued support for their beloved CBC, a liberal-biased taxpayer-funded organization that employees partisan Liberal Frank “culture wars” Graves
    - Iggy takes the culture war recommendation and runs with it
  • Focus health care priorities on forcing our anything-goes abortion policy on developing countries
    - even though Iffy can’t make up his mind on Canadian health issues
  • Return to their policy of ignoring Canada’s military
    - strangely enough, this is one area where the big spending Libs would be extra frugal
    - Liberals will continue smearing the military, while supporting the enemy

Obviously, cost is no object to Liberals when they’re spending other people’s money. Every last Liberal policy will increase the size of government at the expense of taxpayers. This is Canada’s self-proclaimed “natural governing party”. The nanny-state political slant of the Liberal Party is intent on further intrusion into our personal lives and at our own expense.

My hope, when an election comes, people will remember that more government interference in our lives is not the solution to whatever problems we’re experiencing. Expanding welfare-state policies will not solve long-term issues. A recent London Free Press poll seems to indicate that Londoners aren’t buying into Iggy’s big-spending Liberals:

Contrary to popular belief, London has not been a conservative town for a long, long time. This city’s direction has veered left for quite a while now. That’s why it’s good to see a new organization — Take Action London — promoting a different direction for the current tax-and-spenders on our city council. As commenter Honey Pot says, “They are trying to get rid of the anti-economic growth socialist cabal on council, and I say more power to them.”

Do I have much faith in such polls? Not really. I hope, though, that Canadians will take the time to imagine life under a Liberal government. Imagine the costs… Imagine further government intrusion… Imagine the lack of freedom… Just imagine…

Unless the CPC gets their communication act together it doesn’t matter what the Libs say. Most Canadians don’t follow politics. The Liberal “ideas” and their ramifications need to be presented in an clear and easily understood fashion. Simply demonizing Iggy just makes the conservatives look “mean”.

About “demonizing Iggy,” that might be the perception someone who believes there is a right not to be offended might have, but I’ve failed to find anything positive or meaningful that he’s done.

So pointing out, with examples, that Ignatieff and the Liberals believe in big government tax-and-spend policies is demonizing him?

No Natasha, the problem is the CPC forgets to point out the tax and spend policies and go directly to personal attacks.

5 Natasha April 29, 2010 at 7:52 pm

Yes, but I think both cons and libs are guilt of personal attacks.

Nice list.

Carbon Credit fraud is abundant. See this link for how it’s being done:
http://in.reuters.com/article/rbssIndustryMaterialsUtilitiesNews/idINLDE63R1SU20100428 I keep thinking of the Tulip bulb speculation market that went coo-coo in 1636 until someone realized they were just Tulip bulbs and not really worth anything. It seems to be taking longer for people to realize that Carbon Credits a just a figment of a demented imagination and truly worth nothing. If the Dutch were smart about it, they’d trade in those Tulip bulbs for credits and then cash those in to which ever government is still stupid enough to pay for them.

On the Registry: I had the Ceeb on yesterday driving around when The Current was on, and some crazy woman doctor was making a blanket statement on how the Gun Registry has saved lives. Really. Where’s the proof? Even if before approaching a residence the Gun Registry states the home owner has no weapons, the Cops are supposed to assume there are until the place is cleared. Gun related violence is at a 20 year low, where as knife or sharp edged weapon offences are at an all time high. Besides, when the last time you heard a cop say, “Phew, that was a close one. I could’ve been killed had it not been for the gun registry.”

The Conservatives should thank the Gods for the likes of Iggy, the man has done more to help keep them in power than anyone. Ya, I know, there are a lot of other socialists doing their bit out there, but he’s topping the list.

Thanks for that link. We’re gonna be so screwed over if cap and trade or some such scam is implemented here. The Conservatives stayed strong and didn’t give in on that global bank tax nonsense; let’s hope they keep the cap and trade crap out of Canada.

Did anybody ask that idiot doctor for proof on the claims she was making regarding the gun registry? Knowing the CBC, probably not.

And what about the Liberals who introduced the gun registry and said it would not equal confiscation of weapons. Read this from SDA.

Forgive me if I worded that poorly. A list similar to the one in the post is far more effective than personal attacks. He has given us ample ammo to tear him apart based on policy or the lack of policy. Educating a public that gets the news from mother corp is more effective than mocking him for “messing with you until I’m done”.

Sorry, I think I get what you’re saying. Yes, we all need to concentrate on attacking Liberal policy. Personally, I think Ignatieff is just a puppet. I don’t know if he has any real convictions.

This nation will not survive another Liberal government. The WEst will isolate itself from Ottawa, rural culture will revolt with non compliance to more regulating, It could even spawn a tax revolt or strike. As for our culture, any attempt to shove PC identity group politics down Canadian’s throats will make for a fractious seething nation.

Liberals are bad news. Corporate whore mongers and statist thugs. Watch the same fractious lefy wing culture war being run in the US. It;s at a point where the government is trying to provoke it’s critics into a violent confrontation. Is this what we want here?

11 Honey Pot April 29, 2010 at 6:16 pm

I can’t see it happening, a liberal government. The liberals have no money and their members won’t give them any, because their lefties, and lefties are used of hand out coming their way. That sex education fiasco with Dalton wanting to teach kids the fine art of bum-fucking, didn’t go over well in Ontario, nor the rest of Canada.

People with children are up in arms over that, and rightly so. The left tried to brush it off saying it was just religious bigots that didn’t want that taught, but it was any parent who gave a damn about their child, and are not willingly to believe the state is better off raising them.

Ditto for Iggy and the left pushing for their right to kill a whack of little black babies in Africa. They think that will endear them to Canadians, it will do the opposite. Lefty eugenics raising it’s ugly little head again.

The liberals caring more about the well-being of taliban prisoners above the safety of our soldiers, and trying to paint our soldiers as war criminals, is their death shroud.

Bring it on liberals, you are going to get an ass kicking you so truly deserve.
