Seems everybody’s weighing in with their own Suzuki stories…
I’ll keep mine brief: Back in the 1980s (in my feminazzi/liberal days), I was at one of Suzuki’s book signings here in town. I don’t remember what book of his I bought; regardless, I’ve long since disposed of it. My hubby (then boyfriend) was waiting for me and stood nearby watching the proceedings. A young guy of about 16 or 17, an obviously gushing fan of Suzuki’s, was in line. He couldn’t afford the book, but he just wanted to meet his idol and get his autograph. Well, you guessed it: he was dismissed by Suzuki who said he was only autographing books bought at his signing.
Yes, bookstores have their rules on this, but Suzuki could have said he’d be happy to oblige the kid if he’d just wait until paying customers were looked after first. My hubby’s reaction to Suzuki was, “What an ass****!” While I wasn’t impressed with Suzuki’s treatment of the kid, it would still take a few more years (and long after the Rushton debate) before I saw him as the total hypocrite that he truly is. It was probably about the same time that I ended my youthful dalliance with liberalism. We all gotta grow up sometime.

He is a scam artist. It is funny too because the lefties look at him as a god. I just hope the old quiff lives long enough to be outed and laughed at by the world.
