Proof that all the climate change hysteria really IS a religion…

Why else would the Catholic Church want a cut of the action?

On Our Radar: Vatican Panel Calls for Climate Change Action

A report by a scientific group sponsored by the Vatican blames man-made emissions for recent global warming and the retreat of mountain glaciers and calls for urgent action to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases. “We call on all people and nations to recognize the serious and potentially irreversible impacts of global warming caused by the anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants,” the group says. Perhaps the Vatican realizes that AGW represents a new source of funding. Get on the gravy train baby!

Yep, I figured they wised up to the fact that the eco-evangelists were horning in on their turf.

Either AGW has become a religion or the Vatican wants to clip the club of Rome out of the AGW rackets. I can see a Vatican carbon trading bank that also offers absolution for polluters who buy credits from the holy carbon bankers. ;-)

Remember that the Vatican ran a money laundering racket through the Vatican Bank, so these guys are intimately familiar with financial cons and bankster rackets. Holy Carbon trading is a natural evolution for them thus the Pope’s new found faith in AGW’s flagging public trust. Perhaps he feels they can see windfall profits in the resurresction of AGW carbon con hysteria – take it to the next level – from dwindling profit Gaia hysteria to an official sin against the church, with of course, absolution offered for the right price.

Absolution… I didn’t think of that angle, but I bet the Vatican did. ;)

No way is the Catholic church going to let Gaia cut into their flock. I seen this coming and I find it so comical. Churches competing for the glowtards. Religion is cut throat big business, always has been, always will be.

Not only do they want to cash in, they probably figure it’s a good PR move — something the Catholic Church could really use.

And, yeah, religion is big business. I used to joke with Ric (I think it was around the hey-day of Jim & Tammy Faye Baker) that we should start our own religion seeing as how lucrative it was. But then my damn conscience always got in my way of making money like that. ;)

If you don’t have a conscience, religion is the best con game in town. The flock just stand there waiting to be fleeced, praying for it. I remember the Florida revival tent bible thumpers coming to town for the summer when I was a kid.

Brother Freddie would be healing everyone, the females privately in his trailer, and he would yell at us kids if we were trying to look in the windows while he was doing the laying on of the hands.

At night my gang would hide under the stage and when the sinners would throw their smokes and bottles, as they were shaking on the ground being saved, we would run out and grab them. I was the best at it because I was the quickest. We would have tons of loot to divvy up on the nights that Brother Freddie was saving people from Satan himself. Freddie’s eye would be scarlet red as he called Satan to come out of these creatures of God .

That was the summer of pure joy for us group of kids who were taught the true meaning of religion.

There were five immaculate conceptions by young females that attended the Bethany Bible college that following spring, and Brother Freddie never came back to town.
