Mr Millions thinks Canadian health care is for the little people:
The impression Mr. Williams left, that the technique he sought in Miami is not available in Canada, is reinforced by his statement that he will consider applying for reimbursement for his medical costs in Florida.
From Neo: “I guess that’s how you get to be a [...]

American resistance to socialized medicine
It’s bad enough that the progressive left wing in the US has accused the Birther movement of claiming Barack Obama was born in Canada, rather, the greatest sadness I’ve experienced is that the Democrats here in the US don’t seem to be in touch with everyday folk. [...]

King Danny, like Chretien before him, feels he deserves better:
Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams is to have heart surgery in the United States later this week, a press conference this morning is expected to confirm.
Oh, Danny boy, where did all that passion for socialized medicine go…

The stench of government corruption — that’s why hospitals face cuts.
“We will see even more significant cuts to beds and staff and whole hospital departments, and the consequences of this are longer wait times, hospitals that are operating at over capacity or overcrowded hospitals, higher infection rates and more user fees for patients.”
Ah, the joys [...]

Wow! This bozo gets another $451,000 of our money, all for mishandling our money. Her yearly salary was $260,000 — compare that to the median salary of $108,090 for a family physician in Canada. This is government-run health care: the bureaucrats make all the big dough. Man, I want a job where I can get [...]

Read one person’s account here: TGH — Toronto Generally Helpless
The only thing I’d like to add is that it’s not just TGH that’s in this sad state. While this type of treatment in Canadian hospitals is not new, I think, perhaps, that it’s getting worse.
And to those Americans who are clamoring for a socialized “healthcare [...]

Read: Summer of discontent
Angry protesters are showing up at town hall meetings across the United States, some of them saying their country is unrecognizable as they rail against illegal immigrants.
…
“None of this really has anything to do with health care,” Eric Boehlert, senior fellow at Media Matters for America, a progressive media watchdog, said yesterday.
First, [...]

This is what happens when the government runs things:
Untendered contracts, whopping huge bonuses for only 3 months on the job, consultants billing for coffee and cookies, hiring a $300/hour consultant to plan a staff Christmas party…
And still Ontario’s premier McGuinty thinks Caplan should keep his job. McGuinty says he accepts full responsibility for this total [...]

How do you like getting shafted? This just gets better and better…
eHealth scandal reaches Premier’s inner circle
For $327 an hour, one former aide wrote to another former aide
And what is Premier McGuinty’s lame response? He has confidence in Health Minister David Caplan, “even though ‘clearly unacceptable’ things have happened at eHealth.”
McGuinty also praised the eHealth [...]

It took me a while, but I finally learned (the hard way) several years ago to NOT be intimidated by health care workers: ie. doctors and nurses. This story is a good example of why you should question everything about the health care you are receiving.
Woman wrongly given chemo:
On Monday afternoon, Mojica-Fisher — who was [...]

We are paying for filet mignon, but receiving hamburger. We’re forking over the cash for a Rolls Royce, but we’re driving a Yugo.
Canadians receive poor value for health-care dollars
In the case of health care, Canadians are paying for a world-class health-care system but are not receiving one in return.
I talk to a lot of people [...]
